Integration, analyses and visualization of data

The overall purpose of these projects is to develop methods and standards for integration, analyses and visualization of data with different time and space representations. The methods are crucial to a wide range of applications within social science and medicine in particular. One field where the methods are crucial is in historic demography.

Linking geographic and demographic data

In 2012-2016 we conducted an eSSENCE project (funded by VR) together with the Center for Economic Demography (CED), Lund University. In this project we developed standards for how geographic data can be linked and integrated with demographic data as well as developed analytical methods for integrated geographic and demographic data. Major emphasis in this project was to handle different time representations in demographic and geographic data. Since 2017, Finn Hedefalk has worked as a postdoc at the Center for Economic Demography (CED) to develop these methods in the framework of a project about Landskrona, in collaboration with INES.
