Course content
This course will give you an introductory knowledge about theory and methodology within management and analysis of geographic data using geographical information systems (GIS). The course gives a good basis for further utilization of spatial digital data. Through lectures and practical assignments we treat the basic theory of spatial phenomenon, geographic data and analysis and remote sensing within studies of landscape processes. An emphazis is put on understanding of representation and analysis of spatial elements.
The course also intend to give an insight to the science of Physical Geography and how GIS and remote sensing is used to study and research of landscape processes.
