GIT Project with Python Programming

Note: this course is only available for students at the Faculty of Engineering.

Eligibility

This course is only open to students at the Faculty of Engineering (LTH). Application is done through the Faculty of Engineering course registration.

Course contents

Knowing programming languages for developing and interacting with GIS-software is cruicial for students who want to direct their studies towards these specialisations.

Effectuation of a project always requires searching for and obtaining special knowledge and information. In this project course this can be achieved by participating in and perform some programming laboratory practicals within a distance course in Python programming in GIS. This contains lectures as well as other distance learning resources.

The project, which runs in parallel, is some GIT related application. This is preferably done within a research project at the department. For this part the teaching consists of some project meetings with discussion and supervision.

Teaching methods

This is a project course meaning extensive part will be individual work. The projects results and experiences are reported both in written and oral form.

Date and time for the introduction meeting will be decided through contact with the course coordinator.
