During "Kulturnatten", a yearly cultural event taking place in Lund, our department opened its doors, inviting the public to take part in a varity of activites. The aim was to show some of the themes that the department works with, including the carbon portal and ICOS Sweden, an infrastructure project linked to the department.
Outside of Geocentre II, a treasure hunt was offered in order to see how GPS can be used for orientation. Inside the Geo Library, visitors were invited to look at aerial images in stereo and to put 3D puzzles on a world map, which showed Köppen climate classification.
Outside the library, one of the activities revolved around clouds. Children and adults could create their own clouds using scissors and paper, or real clouds in jars. Emma Johansson presented her illustrations, and pther experiments explaining basic physical principles in air and sea were also shown. The department also offered climate-smart food.
