Using PhenoCams to estimate greenness

Phenological cameras, or PhenoCams, have for almost four years been taking daily pictures at four African savannahs. Two sites are located in South Africa (Nylvlsey and Skukuza), one in Senegal (Dahra), and one in Sudan (Demokeya). The pictures will be analyzed with respect to separate areas (region of interest, ROI) to be able to separate the greenness between tree and grass. In that way we can estimate the tree and grass phenology separately and relate that to for example vegetation indices from earth observation.
