PhD - Analyzing trade-offs and synergies between ecosystem services provided by forests
In my project, I study ecosystem service trade-offs in Swedish production forest landscapes. I'm interested in the effects of management strategies on levels of carbon stocks, soil and water quality, biodiversity, and economic value. One of my research aims is to study the sensitivity of these services and the trade-off between them to changes in spatial and temporal management scale. I use the Heureka decision support system to plan forest management strategies and predict their outcome for several ecosystem services. Most of my work involves R for data management, GIS-work, statistical analysis, and data visualization.

Methods
I use a variety of methods in my project.
- Statistical modeling in R
- Species Distribution Models and joint Species Distribution Models
- Mixed-effects models
- Decision support for forest management (Heureka)
- GIS
- in R using sf, raster, stars, mapview, ggplot2
- ArcGIS Pro
