ICOS Science Conference 2026

The ICOS (Integrated Carbon Observing System) Science Conference 2026 will be held at Lund University. The conference will gather hundreds of international scientists studying greenhouse gases and the movement of carbon across the land, ocean and atmosphere.
The ICOS Science Conference, organised every second year by the ICOS community, is a global event open to scientists and other experts working in greenhouse gases and biogeochemical cycles. The conference itself will take place from Tuesday 15th until Thursday 17th September 2026. On Monday 14th, there will be a voluntary icebreaker event, and on Friday 18th, there will be a possibility to participate in excursions to ICOS stations.
The event will be held in the historical student house AF-Borgen. As in previous years, there will be an online attendance option as well.
The conference programme will include a wide variety of scientific as well as interdisciplinary sessions related to policy making, climate education and new instrument developments. As in the past years, the session themes and the scientific programme will be created by a programme committee consisting of top climate scientists.
The conference will also host a vendor area, which will offer the instrument manufacturers and other innovators the space to showcasing their products and interact with scientists. Questions related to vendor opportunities may be sent by email to conference [at] icos-ri [dot] eu (conference[at]icos-ri[dot]eu).
Abstract submission will open in January 2026. Stay updated on the abstract submission dates and other important deadlines, by subscribing to the ICOS Science Conference newsletter here and following ICOS on social media.
