Carbon cycling in the northern permafrost region - Gustaf Hugelius
Gustaf Hugelius is at the Department of Physical Geography and the Bolin Centre of Climate Research at Stockholm University. His main scientific interest is how soils interact with the carbon cycle. He has particularly worked to improve the mapping of organic carbon stored in permafrost and peatlands of Arctic and Boreal ecosystems. In this presentation he talks about the current state of knowledge on the carbon cycle in permafrost regions, with an emphasis on empirical studies and how they may be useful in the context of model development or assessment.
