Biology, Geology and Climate Change at Isfjord Radio Station

Jonas Åkerman gives a seminar on the High Arctic environment in Svalbard. The seminar is a preparation for our PhD course in July 2023, which will focus on the effects of Climate change in the area with the strongest temperature rise.

Our coming PhD course in July 2023 will start with an excursion week with a focus on the high arctic environment in the area on earth that already has the earth's strongest temperature rise caused by climate change.

Jonas Åkerman will provide a general geographical introduction to the unique high Arctic environment in the Kapp Linne' and Isfjord Radio area west Svalbard will be given here. There will also be a lot of reading material and field guides to be studied before the fieldwork. These will be presented at the seminar.
