This course provides means on how to define, plan and carry out a project at an academic level. The project is intended to be the Master´s thesis, but could be any academic report. The course is best suited to be run just before the master thesis project. It is divided into 5 parts involving both theoretical lectures and practical exercises. Library Knowledge presents how to find relevant books and journals, as being a fundamental part of any academic report. Scientific Theories and Scientific Methods introduce general theories, and also give the participant an opportunity to focus on methods relevant to his/her own research area. In Argument Theory, basic structures of arguments are discussed and exemplified. The Report Writing part defines conventions that all academic reports are bounded by, and compares academic reports to other types of writings. In addition, the participant is given various tips regarding how to smooth the process of writing.
