This course focuses on how resources and planning concepts can be utilized in a GIS. It handles basic radiation and reflection theories, as well as digital remote sensing classification for analyzing multi-spectral satellite data. Hydrological modeling and water resource assessment is introduced through the ArcHydro-tool which is used to derive drainage basins and stream networks. Other resource problems under focus are handled through road network analysis and mapping of resources through cost-surface analysis.
NOTE: This is an internet based course. You are not supposed to travel to Lund to attend. The course is part of LUMA-GIS, the master program in GIS, but it is also possible to study this course outside the program.
