EASAC - European Academies 'Science Advisory Council - has published a new report dealing with the multifunctional role of forests, focusing on biodiversity and climate. Among other things, the report debunks the myth of bioenergy's climate neutrality, and proposes measures that strengthen biodiversity, thus providing increased sustainability and resistance to diseases and other disorders in the forest.
Anders Lindroth, Professor at the Department, is part of the expert group that has provided the basis for the report. The report was presented to decision makers in Brussels on May 11, 2017.
