Exchange processes between the Land Surface and the Atmosphere

Our research aims to understand the role of terrestrial ecosystems, especially their biogeochemical cycles, in surface-atmosphere interactions.

We study the impacts that changes in climate and atmospheric composition have on emission and uptake of long-lived greenhouse gases and atmospherically reactive substances, and the feedbacks of altered biosphere-atmosphere exchanges on composition of the atmosphere and climate.

Projects include process-studies and field observations, as well as applying and developing the dynamic vegetation modelling framework LPJ-GUESS (http://www.nateko.lu.se/embers/).
